Grumpy's Roseville is pleased to announce our own special take on Trivia Night. Coming this Wednesday, The Sloe Gin Quiz takes you through 36 questions in four specific categories, all read by our emcee while being displayed on TVs throughout the bar. However many trivia nights you've ever been too, we can guarantee you've never been to one like this, so check it out.
(starts at 10 PM)
Vikings Season Is Here!
Grumpy's in Roseville is the place to catch all the Vikings action. With 16 Hi-Def plasmas and 2 gigantic projection screens, why would you go anywhere else?
If that wasn't enough we'll throw in some beer and food specials on top of our big Sunday Brunch and full service menu.
Did I forget to mention we have the NFL Sunday Package? Watch EVERY Football game being played. It's a pigskin squealfest! Hut Hut!
Surly Coffee Bender Is On Tap!
Regular Bender beer with a cold-press coffee-brewing process. Surly steeps 20 gallons of Bender at a time. The coffee is roasted locally at Coffee & Tea Limited in Linden Hills. Rated the number two American Brown Ale by members of BeerAdvocate.com and twenty second highest rated brown ale on RateBeer.com. Also available: Surly Cynic (Tap) and Furious, Bender, Bitter Brewer, Cynic (16oz. cans).
In case you didn't know, All 3 locations have amazing patio's, and if you needed more of an excuse to check 'em out they're now sporting some amazing stencil art murals by John Grider. You've seen his stuff around town, hell you might have even seen it in Paris, London, NYC etc. etc. We talked him into showing some hometown pride in laying down the vintage art from Grain Belt cans (when they we're still brewed in N.E.). The fact that John's a N.E. kid, meant the arm twisting wasn't too hard. Okay since Roseville is on the other side of the river, we also gave a nod to St. Paul's old school hometown brew Schmidt. So now you can have your drink, some tater Tots, and get your art fix too. Try that at the Walker! Okay, so the days of the 3 Martini lunch are long gone. That doesn't mean you can't spend some mid afternoon quality time in your favorite night time haunt. Go ahead, hold that meeting where your Dad did back in the day, except now your adult beverage can be a Cafe AuLet Mocha whatever thingy. Besides when was the last time you could get some tater tots with your Esspresso or catch some of the Twins game at a froofy coffee chain joint? Now there's no excuse for not be at Grumpy's in the afternoon! For that matter we whipping up some crazy late night concotions that'll mix yer poisons. A whole new world opens up when you can mix some top quality espresso shots with some real shots!
Starting right.... NOW. Come on in and get in on some games of BAGS at 8pm, on Sat. nights. Whether you're King Bagger or King Back Door, All shooters are welcome, just watch the foot fouls bub. No idea what we're talking about? Well in a nutshell, there's these bean bag things, and a board with a hole in it, and a bunch rules. Anyhow you start playing this game with a beer in hand and you'll likely become an addict. We're firing it up out on the patio!

Every Monday Night - At all Grumpy's locations! Buy a tap Summit and keep this swank hi end design beer glass for free! The special only runs from 6-9pm on Monday nights, and while supplies last. Otherwise if you want one of these Objects D'Art, you'll have to pony up $2 any other time. The reverse of the glass has the Summit logo on it as well.
While we're talking about swag, check out the latest Grumpy's Zippo design now available at all locations as well. You can order 'em online here. This is a limited edition of 50, so get a move on before it's too late!
SATURDAY, MARCH 29TH: ART ATTACK ON THE SUBURBS - GRUMPY'S GRAND OPENING AND ART UNVEILING
As usual we don't know what to quite to call this event. Part art show, part art installation, and part multi-media art animation thingy.
10:00pm: Shag Unveiling - Cocktails and Hors Douvres
11:00pm: John Grider Mural Unveiling
11:30pm: Lori Barberos (Babes In Toyland) DJ's
1:00am: Screening of A Purge Of DIssidents
OX-OP in conjunction with Grumpy's Roseville invites you to our Grand Opening And Art Unveiling. Everyone reading this should be familiar with local artist John Grider. He's been commissioned to create two massive 18 foot tall stencil murals in the bar. These are original pieces created exclusively for Grumpy's. Though they may be of a pop art leaning, they're steeped in symbolism, as the 2 designs represent the history of Minneapolis & St. Paul, in beer history that is! Grain Belt has helped us in this endeavor and that should give a clue as to the Minneapolis part. With Grumpy's stepping across the river, throw in another dash of significance (man I love those art terms).
I'm sure a lot of you have also heard of Shag before. At the forefront of the Juxtapoz/Low Brow movement, Shag has become an international figure in the fine art world. In 2001, OX-OP hosted his first gallery show outside of L.A., and two subsequent shows that sold-out in minutes. Consider it a retrospective of sorts, but Shag has forked over 13 artists proofs for the cause (Grumpy's suburban invasion). There will be a hyper-limited amount of these rare artist's proofs available for sale as well.
There's also going to be a 1am viewing of "A Purge Of Dissidents", the multi-media collaboration between HAZE-XXL and Dalek. The Purge show recently toured the U.S. in conjunction with the Melvins 2007 tour, and has shown at the Galleries Magda Danysz Gallery in Paris in 2006. There's nothing quite like seeing it on Grumpy's huge screen, with a great sound system and an additional 30 big screens sporting it.
MARCH MADNESS will be televised... at Grumpy's Roseville. Hey we just coughed up the $$ to get the whole package. Word on the street is a lot of other bars in the area won't. So that means Grumpy's Roseville should be your home for College Basketball for the duration of March Madness! With as many TV's as we have, and the giant screen, where else would you rather be? That is, unless your wife is an amazing cook, happily refills your beers for you, and doesn't mind your repeated outbursts at those pivotal moments in the games.
Didn't think so, we'll see you here.

Details have been worked out, and Guitar Hero night at Grumpy's will kick off Wednesday, March 19th, and will then continue every Wednesday thereafter. There's a lot of fun and events plannedand a lot of big screens to display you in all your rock prowress. For more information, may I recommend you vist the event's minisite?
The Infernal Sinalong Machine is up and running! This is karaoke done right. Massive selection, including lot's of hard to find tunes. It's been fired up by Joel Stitzel of Cosmic Slop fame. Tuesday nights at 10:00pm. To keep up on what Joel has in store make sure to check out his MySpace page (found on the contacts page).
March 17th, 2008: St. Patrick's Day BASH. Okay on this we go the extra mile folks. Aside from more authentic Irish food then you're gonna find at neighboring corporate chain bars (like homemade Irish Soda Bread, fresh cooked Corned Beef, Guinness Irish Stew and more) we'll also be breaking out a big selection of real Irish Whisky's. If that wasn't enough, we'll have the Minnesota Police Pipe Band playing live at the bar at 5pm. This 15 piece outfit has to be seen to be believed. Having the MN Pipe Band play in NE and Downtown has become a standing room only tradition over the years, so get there early! Also Irish Beer Sampler 3-7oz glasses of Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks & $4.00 Imperial Pints of Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks. If you're not at Grumpy's for St. Paddy's, then as they say in Gaelic "Loscadh is dó ort".
If you didn't catch the amazing Grumpy's Roseville write up in the Star Tribune on Friday, it's online here for a while...
Hey - Grumpy's Roseville is almost a month old!! Get off your backside and check out what's easily the coolest bar in any suburb of the Twin Cities. We've already changed it up for the better with way improved service, new menu items, new events and happenings, new art, new music, etc. etc. etc. But keep your eye's peeled, as some of the coolest and biggest changes are yet to come.
We're already shaking it up in Roseville. Joey I.L.O. ( as seen on Last Comic Standing) has been doing his "Stand Up If You Can" Comedy Shows for a couple weeks on Sunday nights (at 9:30pm). He's bringing in big gun talent as well as doing some open Mic action. It's free and it's amazing! If you come down, ask your server where the "2 for 1" zone is. Basically those Brave should that get in front of the stage get an amazing deal on drinks. Those wall flowers hanging in the back of the room, well you get to pay full price.
FREE PIZZA! One of the many changes we made to the menu was to start making our Pizza's with fresh dough. I'm still kinda shocked they were using frozen dough in that sweet brick oven before. Anyhow, we're so proud of Chef Luis' recipe, that 6 nights a week we're showing it off with FREE PIZZA after 11pm! Why the hell would you be anywhere else late nights? Other Menu news is the rescue of the smokers from the storage locker. That means slow roasted Ribs, and pulled pork are in the house!
THE INFERNAL SINGALONG MACHINE KARAOKE has started! It's Joel from Cosmic Slop, and it's a new spin on the tired Karaoke formula found elsewhere! It's going on every Tuesday night at 10pm. Service Industry Night for the Roseville area has fired up, and is officially called "Workers Unite, DRINK BEER TONIGHT!". If free pool, free pizza and drink specials every Monday night don't get you fired up on your night off, nothing will. Bring some sorta I.D. proving you're in the bar and restaurant industry, and you're good to go. Check out the special for Valentines day...not a moment to soon. Also coming in March...GUITAR HERO
